The rollover crash was reported on the southbound I-5 Freeway, just north of Sand Canyon Avenue, when grey 2003 Nissan Xterra collided with a guardrail and overturned around 2:20 AM.

First responders rushed to the scene where they found three adult male occupants from the vehicle, including one who was pinned underneath it.

Firefighters used the Jaws of Life, a hydraulic jack, wood cribbing, and other tools to stabilize the overturned vehicle before freeing the trapped occupant in an operation that took about 30 minutes.

The newly freed occupant and another person from the vehicle were rushed to area hospitals for treatment. Their conditions were not immediately known.

A third occupant was assessed at the scene but declined further medical treatment.

Several alcoholic beverages could be seen among the items littered from the overturned vehicle.

The cause of the crash is under investigation but may be related to speed or alcohol.
