06.20.2021 | 3:29 AM | IRVINE – Two people were injured in a crash that left their vehicle with major damage, early Sunday morning.
The crash was reported on the southbound I-5 Freeway just north of Sand Canyon Avenue around 3:29 AM.
When units arrived on scene they located a black Volkswagen SUV with major front-end damage.
Two people from the Volkswagen, a male driver and female passenger, were injured and treated on scene before being transported to area hospitals by firefighter paramedics.
Two other vehicles with damage were located just south of where the Volkswagen came to rest however it was unclear if they were involved in the crash.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
