Irvine: DUI Driver Flees Crash, Leaves 20-Year-Old Woman Dead

08.23.2020 | 8:47 PM | IRVINE – A suspected DUI driver was arrested after fleeing a crash that left a 20-year-old woman dead, Saturday night.

Authorities responded to reports of a traffic collision with injuries at the intersection of Culver Drive and Main Street around 8:47 PM.

Units arriving on scene located a black Hyundai Elantra on the sidewalk.

Firefighter paramedics found a 20-year-old female injured inside and rushed her to an OC Global Medical Center where she was pronounced deceased.

Two other occupants from the Hyundai escaped injury.

A Ford F-150 that reportedly caused the crash fled the scene but was located by police a short distance away.

The driver of the Ford, identified as 40-year-old Antonio Calixto Navarrete, was placed under arrest on suspicion of felony DUI, felony hit-and-run, and murder.
