Irvine: DUI Driver Arrested After Being Discovered Passed-Out By News Photographer

02.24.2019 | 4:22 AM | IRVINE – A suspected DUI driver was under arrest after being discovered passed-out behind the wheel, Sunday morning.

Authorities responded to reports of a news photographer that was out with a blue Audi A4 sedan at the intersection of Barranca Parkway and Millikan Avenue around 4:22 AM.

The photographer reported that the vehicle was blocking lanes with two occupants inside passed-out and unresponsive.

Officers arriving on scene surrounded the vehicle and contacted the female driver along with a male passenger who looked like a clown.

Both occupants were removed from the vehicle and appeared to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

The female driver was administered field sobriety tests on scene before being placed under arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence.

The male passenger was released at the scene.
