Irvine: Crash Involving Box Truck Seriously Injures One

06.21.2021 | 9:38 PM | IRVINE – A crash involving a box truck left one person seriously injured, Monday night.

The crash was reported near One Uptown Newport, an apartment complex located in the 4300 block of Jamboree Road, around 9:38 PM.

Crews arriving on scene located a two-car crash involving a silver BMW coupe that had departed the roadway before coming to rest against a fence and a white box truck that appeared to have ran over the center median.

The driver of the BMW sustained serious injuries and was rushed to an area trauma center by firefighter paramedics, according to radio traffic.

Both occupants of the box truck were evaluated by first responders but refused medical treatment.

All lanes of Jamboree Road between Birch Street and Fairchild Road were closed until about 4:00 AM while police investigated the crash.
