Huntington Beach: Two Detained After Shooting That Injured One, Prompted School Lockdowns

03.17.2022 | 1:15 PM | HUNTINGTON BEACH – Two people were detained after a shooting that injured one person and prompted two schools to be placed on lockdown, Thursday afternoon.

The shooting was reported in the 10000 block of Constitution Drive around 1:15 PM.

When authorities arrived they located one person who had sustained minor injuries.

Both The Pegasus and Isojiro Oka Elementary schools were placed on a brief lockdown while officers swarmed the area.

Two suspects were ultimately detained and police said there was no outstanding threat to public safety.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting incident remain under investigation.
