Huntington Beach: Suspect Killed In Pursuit Crash, Dog and Another Motorist Injured

10.04.2025 | 12:46 AM | HUNTINGTON BEACH – A suspect died and a dog along with another motorist were injured when high-speed pursuit ended with a crash, early Saturday morning.

Callers reported a black Ford Bronco driving recklessly and running red lights near Pacific Coast Highway and Brookhurst Street some time before 12:46 AM.

Officers located the Ford near the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Talbert Avenue and attempted to perform a traffic stop when the vehicle fled.

The pursuit continued northbound before the Ford collided with a grey Honda SUV and a pole at the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Warner Avenue. The driver of the Ford, who has yet to be identified, died at the scene.

A German Shepherd dog believed to be riding in the Ford at the time of the collision sustained unspecified injuries and was rushed from the scene to a nearby veterinary hospital by an animal control officer.

The driver of the Honda, a female adult, was transported from the scene by ambulance in unknown condition.

The force of the collision caused a piece of the Ford to fly across a gas station and into a glass door causing it to shatter.

All traffic in the area of the collision was closed until further notice while authorities investigated the deadly pursuit crash.
