Huntington Beach: Stabbing Leaves Two Dead, Three Others Injured

07.04.2024 | 11:15 PM | HUNTINGTON BEACH – Two people were killed and three others injured in stabbing incident that broke out amidst 4th of July celebrations, Thursday night.

The stabbing involving multiple victims was reported in the 400 block of 16th Street, near Pecan Avenue, around 11:15 PM.

When authorities arrived they located five victims suffering from stab wounds near an apartment building that appeared to be hosting an Independence Day party.

Two of the victims were pronounced deceased at the scene while three others were rushed to nearby hospitals with what were described as non-life threatening injuries. Police said all of the victims were adults.

A suspect, identified as 26-year-old Logan Kelley, of Huntington Beach, was arrested and booked on charges of murder and attempted murder in connection with the deadly stabbing incident.

Police say they have “no reason to believe there is any further public safety threat related to this incident” though additional details regarding the incident were withheld pending further investigation.
