03.09.2019 | 10:48 PM | HUNTINGTON BEACH – Authorities were investigating after a female pedestrian was struck and killed while crossing a busy street, Saturday night.
Authorities responded to the reported vehicle accident involving a pedestrian at the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Slater Avenue around 10:48 PM.
Units arriving on scene found a female pedestrian deceased in the roadway and a vehicle with major front-end damage.
Authorities cordoned off the intersection and made use of a DJI Mavic drone to investigate the crash.
Witnesses reported that the pedestrian was jaywalking just south of the intersection when she was struck and sent flying through the air.
The driver of the vehicle was not believed to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol and remained on scene to cooperate with law enforcement.
