Huntington Beach: Horrific Rollover Crash Injures Multiple High-School Aged Kids

02.19.2023 | 10:39 PM | HUNTINGTON BEACH – A horrific rollover crash seriously injured five high-school aged kids riding in a SUV, Sunday night.

The rollover crash was reported in the southbound lanes of Gothard Street, south of West McFadden Avenue, after silver 1998 Toyota 4Runner failed to negotiate a curve in the road and overturned multiple times.

One person was reportedly ejected from the Toyota that was packed with five high-school aged victims.

A second victim was trapped inside the SUV and had to be freed by firefighters who cut two doors from the vehicle.

All five victims were transported to area hospitals for treatment. Two of the victims were in grave condition. The condition of the other victims was not immediately available.

Speed was believed to be a factor in the solo vehicle collision although the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
