Huntington Beach: Five Arrested After Double Shooting In Downtown Area

10.05.2021 | 11:40 PM | HUNTINGTON BEACH – Five people were arrested after a double shooting in the downtown area, late Tuesday night.

The shooting was reported near the intersection of 3rd Street and Walnut Avenue in the downtown area around 11:40 PM.

When officers arrived on scene they located two adult males suffering from gunshot wounds.

Firefighter paramedics rushed both victims to an area hospital for treatment. Their condition was not immediately known but both victims were expected to survive.

Shortly after the shooting officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near where the shooting occurred.

Five individuals inside the vehicle, who matched the description of the shooters, were located and later arrested. The suspected shooters identities were not immediately released.

Although an investigation is ongoing initial reports indicate that an argument and physical altercation between the two groups occurred shortly before shots rang out.

Police say there is no outstanding threat to public safety.
