Huntington Beach: Female Gunned Down In Apparent Drive By Shooting

03.23.2019 | 10:30 PM | HUNTINGTON BEACH – A woman was hospitalized after being gunned down in what appeared to be a drive-by shooting, Saturday night.

Authorities responded to multiple reports of shots being fired in the area of Mandrell Drive and Koledo Lane around 10:30 PM.

While en route units received additional reports that a female had been shot in a carport to the rear of a building in the 7800 block of Barton Drive.

Units arriving on scene located the 26-year-old female victim down suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

Firefighter paramedics immediately transported the female victim and transported her in unknown condition to UCI Medical Center.

Officers conducting a search of the immediate area located shell casings near a vehicle on Ash Lane just north of Mandrell Lane.

Additional units observed a vehicle being driven by a male Hispanic with a bullet hole to the rear driver’s side window and conducted a traffic stop.

The man was taken into custody without incident however it was unclear if he was a victim or suspect.

Officers are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting incident.
