Huntington Beach: Elder Man Killed By Hit & Run Driver

04.14.2022 | 4:58 PM | HUNTINGTON BEACH – A man in his 70s was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver as he crossed a street, Thursday evening.

The deadly hit-and-run crash was reported on Yorktown Avenue, east of Newland Street, around 4:58 PM.

When authorities arrived they found a male pedestrian in his 70s that had been struck by a vehicle.

Firefighter paramedics rushed the man to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

Initial reports indicate that the man was crossing the street out of a marked crosswalk when he was struck by a grey vehicle.

The vehicle that struck the man fled the scene without stopping, police said.
