Huntington Beach: Bicyclist Dies Following DUI Crash

08.09.2022 | 9:45 PM | HUNTINGTON BEACH – A 42-year-old bicyclist died after being struck by a suspected DUI driver Thursday evening, police said.

Police responded to the traffic collision involving a bicyclist on Pacific Coast Highway, north of Admiralty Drive, around 6:00 PM.

At the scene authorities learned that the male bicyclist was traveling northbound in southbound lanes when he was struck by black 2018 Toyota RAV4 headed southbound.

The bicyclist was rushed to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. His identity was not immediately released.

Meanwhile the driver of the Toyota, 70-year-old Barbara Front, of Huntington Beach, was arrested by officers on suspicion of DUI.
