Garden Grove: Woman Trapped In Car Following Crash In Heavy Fog, Another Driver Arrested

12.18.2025 | 11:14 PM | GARDEN GROVE – Two people, including one who was trapped, were injured in a rollover crash and a third person was placed under arrest in connection with the crash, late Thursday night.

The rollover traffic collision involving a white 2025 Hyundai Elantra and a white 2021 Toyota Corolla was reported at the intersection of Garden Grove Boulevard and Magnolia Street around 11:14 PM.

When authorities arrived they discovered two occupants from the Toyota had been injured. One of the pair, a woman, was trapped in the wreckage and had to be freed by firefighters using the Jaws of Life and other heavy rescue power tools. Both occupants were rushed by ambulance to UCI Medical Center for treatment. The extent of their injuries was not immediately disclosed.

A third man, believed to be the driver of the Hyundai, was arrested at the scene and did not appear injured. Preliminary reports suggest he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol though police have yet to confirm those reports.

The crash occurred as a heavy layer of fog blanketed the area resulting in substantially reduced visibility but it was unclear whether the weather played a role in the crash.

Traffic in the area of the crash was halted while crews attended to the scene but eventually reopened after about an hour and a half.
