Garden Grove: Police K-9 Helps Apprehend Bank Robbery Suspect

12.21.2021 | 1:50 PM | GARDEN GROVE – A 39-year-old man suspected of robbing a bank was apprehended with the help of a police K9, Tuesday afternoon.

The robbery was reported after a man entered the Bank of the West, located in the 12900 block of Main Street, and demanded cash around 1:50 PM.

The man, later identified as 39-year-old Justin Kearney Troy, of Fullerton, fled on foot from the bank with about $500 but quickly located.

When officers tried to stop Troy he ignored police commands and a police K9 was deployed to assist in his apprehension.

Bank employees positively identified Troy and police recovered all cash taken in the robbery.

Troy was treated for injuries sustained during his arrest and later booked into the Orange County Jail.
