12.17.2021 | 11:10 AM | GARDEN GROVE – A man recovering from a stabbing shot and killed his attacker after the perpetrator returned days later and forced his way into the man’s home, Friday morning.
The incident occurred in the 11900 block of Sycamore Lane around 11:10 AM when a suspect from a prior stabbing incident returned to the victim’s home and forced his way inside.
As the intruder headed upstairs in the residence the victim armed himself with a handgun and opened fire, striking the attacker.
Firefighter paramedics later pronounced the perpetrator deceased on scene.
Police say the intruder previously broke into the home and stabbed the man that later shot him on December 12 at around 1:00 PM but fled before police arrived.
The stabbing victim was believed to have been targeted due to his relationship with the attacker’s ex-girlfriend who has an active domestic violence restraining order to prevent the suspect from coming near the home.
Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact Detective Lopez by calling (714) 7412-5818.
