Garden Grove: Hammer Attack Critically Injures Victim, Suspect Arrested

09.21.2022 | 8:30 PM | GARDEN GROVE – One man critically injured after being beaten with a hammer and the suspect believed responsible is behind bars, police announced Wednesday.

The incident occurred around 8:49 PM on Tuesday, September 20 when a suspect identified as 36-year-old Jesse Bizarro attacked a man with a hammer in the 13000 block of Garden Grove Boulevard around 8:49 PM, police say.

Witnesses were detaining Bizarro when officers arrived to the scene and the victim, described only as a 40-year-old male resident of Garden Grove, was soon rushed to a local hospital in critical condition.

Officers later arrested Bizarro and booked him in to the Orange County Jail where he was being held in lieu of $1 million bail.

The circumstances surrounding the violent assault are still under investigation and anyone with information was asked to contact Detective Camara at (714) 741-5824.
