Fullerton: Suspected DUI Driver Arrested After Fatal Crash Involving Pedestrian

08.19.2021 | 9:13 PM | FULLERTON – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a suspected DUI driver that was later arrested, Thursday night.

The collision occurred near the intersection of East Chapman and North Annin avenues around 9:13 PM.

When officers arrived on scene they located a male pedestrian down in the eastbound lanes of Chapman Avenue.

Firefighter paramedics attempted to treat the victim but later pronounced him deceased on scene.

Preliminary reports suggest that the male victim was crossing Chapman Avenue when a vehicle heading eastbound collided with the him.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the pedestrian was placed under arrest on suspicion of DUI after an investigation by a drug recognition expert.

The identity of the DUI driver and the male pedestrian were not immediately released.
