Fountain Valley: Pedestrian Struck, Killed In Intersection

03.09.2021 | 11:52 PM | FOUNTAIN VALLEY – A pedestrian was struck and killed by vehicle at a busy intersection, late Tuesday night.

Officers responded to reports of a traffic collision involving a pedestrian at the intersection of Brookhurst Street and Ellis Avenue shortly before midnight.

At the scene they discovered an adult male down in the intersection suffering from traumatic injuries after being struck by a white 2014 Jeep Compass.

Firefighter paramedics attempted lifesaving interventions before pronouncing the man deceased on scene. He was later identified as 37-year-old Timothy Durham, of Huntington Beach.

The driver of the Jeep was uninjured and remained on scene to cooperate with law enforcement.

Drugs or alcohol were not believed to be a factor but the fatal crash remains under investigation.
