02.27.2026 | 10:48 PM | FOUNTAIN VALLEY – A pedestrian was struck and killed by vehicle near Mile Square Park, late Friday night.
The collision occurred on Warner Avenue just east of Brookhurst Street, adjacent to Mile Square Park, around 10:48 PM.
When authorities arrived they found a pedestrian down in the roadway and a grey sedan with front-end damage stopped nearby.
Medics attempted to render aid to the downed pedestrian but later pronounced tem deceased on scene.
The driver of the sedan stayed on scene and was cooperating with law enforcement.
Impairment nor speed were believed to be factors in the collision and it was unclear why the pedestrian was in lanes when they were struck.
All westbound lanes of Warner Avenue west of San Mateo Street were closed to traffic while police investigated the deadly crash.
