Costa Mesa: Six Children Injured In Freeway Crash

06.15.2026 | 11:58 PM | COSTA MESA – Seven people, including six children, were injured in a freeway crash, late Monday night.

The collision occurred around 11:58 PM on the southbound I-405 Freeway just north of the SR-55 Freeway when a grey Toyota Sienna departed the roadway and struck a palm tree.

Seven people, including a 35-year-old female adult and what appeared to be two infants, three juveniles, and one teenager, were injured in the collision.

Medics arriving on scene declared a mass casualty incident and request multiple additional resources to care for the numerous patients.

All seven victims were treated on scene and later transported to area hospitals. Their conditions were not immediately available.

The cause of the collision is under investigation.
