Costa Mesa: Shooting Suspects Arrested Following Pursuit

07.28.2022 | 6:00 PM | COSTA MESA – Two attempted murder suspects wanted in connection with a Laguna Hills shooting were arrested following a pursuit that ended in Costa Mesa early Thursday morning, officials said.

The suspects, who have yet to be identified, were arrested in Costa Mesa following a pursuit that began when deputies tried to stop their vehicle in Lake Forest around 2:20 AM.

The vehicle was being sought in connection with the shooting of a 20-year-old victim man around 1:05 AM in the 25800 block of Via Lomas, in Laguna Hills.

Both occupants fled from deputies but were eventually apprehended near the intersection of Bristol Street and the SR-55 Freeway.

The pair were described by authorities as attempted murder suspects although the exact charges they face were not immediately available.

Two firearms, including one that was tossed during the pursuit, were recovered by authorities.

Officials said the victim of the shooting was transported to a nearby hospital in stable condition.
