Costa Mesa: Bar Fight Leads To Attempted Murder

06.15.2019 | 11:35 PM | COSTA MESA – One man was hospitalized and another man was being sought on suspicion of attempted murder after a bar fight led to a shooting, late Saturday night.

Authorities responded to reports of a shooting in the parking lot across the street from several local bars in the 800 block of West 19th Street around 11:35 PM.

Units arriving on scene found a 23-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound along with several other vehicles and businesses that had been struck by gunfire.

Firefighter paramedics treated the male victim on scene before transporting him to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Initial reports indicate a fight broke out at a bar before moving across the street at which point a shooting occurred.

The suspect, later identified by police as 47-year-old Luis Antonio Luevano-Guzman, fled the scene and remains wanted on suspicion of attempted murder.

Guzman is described as being a male Hispanic, 5′ 7″, 245 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He is considered by police to be armed and dangerous.
