Costa Mesa: Apartment Fire Prompts Evacuations

11.22.2020 | 9:17 PM | COSTA MESA – A fire in an apartment building left at least one unit damaged and prompted evacuations, Sunday night.

The fire was reported at the South Pointe Apartments located in the 600 block of Baker Street around 9:17 PM.

Firefighters arrived on scene to find heavy smoke and fire shooting from the window of a second-story apartment.

Apartments in the area were evacuated while crews worked to extinguish the blaze and prevent it from spreading.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
