Costa Mesa: Apartment Fire Prompts Evacuations

01.13.2021 | 11:03 PM | COSTA MESA – A fire inside an apartment building resulted in evacuations that left families waiting in the cold, late Tuesday night.

The fire was first reported at the Pacific Park Apartments, located in the 600 block of Park Drive, shortly after 11:00 PM.

Crews arriving on scene found heavy smoke pouring from an apartment and began efforts to evacuate nearby residents while extinguishing the blaze.

The fire was contained in under an hour but many evacuated families were seen covering themselves in blankets while they waited outside.

The cause of the fire is under investigation and no injuries were reported.
