Buena Park: Suspect Who Shot At School Bus Killed By Police After Pursuit

09.03.2021 | 1:59 PM | BUENA PARK – A man who shot at a school bus and later led officers on a pursuit was killed by police in a school district parking lot, Friday afternoon.

The incident began to unfolded shortly before 2:00 PM when a patrol officer saw a man open fire on a school bus near the intersection of Orangethorpe and Western avenues.

The officer attempted to stop the man as he fled in a vehicle.

A pursuit ensued before the suspect pulled into the Buena Park School District parking lot located in the 6800 block of Orangethorpe Avenue.

Police confronted the suspect and an officer-involved shooting occurred.

The suspect was struck and later pronounced deceased at the scene.

No injuries to officers or occupants of the school bus were reported.

Unconfirmed information suggests the suspect may have targeted the driver of the school bus as part of a domestic dispute however the investigation is still ongoing.
