Anaheim: Two Men Killed After Crashing Into Pole While Fleeing Shooting Scene

02.21.2022 | 12:10 AM | ANAHEIM – Two men were killed when their vehicle slammed into a pole as they fled from the scene of a shooting, early Monday morning.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting near the Mariscos El Cangrejo Nice restaurant located in the 1700 block of West La Palma Avenue around 12:10 AM.

As officers arrived in the are they observed a dark colored 2004 Chevrolet Blazer flee the area, running several red lights before slamming into a pole at the intersection of La Palma Avenue and Brookhurst Street.

Both men were trapped inside the vehicle, which was wrapped around the pole, and pronounced deceased.

Another man was detained in connection with the initial shooting in which nobody was struck although it was unclear how he might be related to the victims in the Chevy.
