07.02.2026 | 12:43 AM | ANAHEIM – A pedestrian died after being struck by a pickup truck on a busy freeway, early Thursday morning.
The collision occurred on the eastbound SR-91 Freeway, just east of Imperial Highway, when a blue Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck struck a pedestrian.
The force of the impact launched the pedestrian into the FasTrak lanes where they were later pronounced deceased by medics.
The Chevrolet sustained major front-end damage but its driver and solo occupant was uninjured.
The driver of the Chevrolet was not believed to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol and was cooperating with law enforcement.
It is unclear why the pedestrian was on the busy freeway when they were struck and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision is ongoing.
All lanes of the eastbound SR-91 Freeway were closed for about an hour while authorities attended to the scene.
