Anaheim: Officers Injured After Ramming Wrong-Way Driver

03.15.2026 | 2:11 AM | ANAHEIM – Two officers were injured after they used their vehicle to ram a wrong-way vehicle driven by a DUI suspect, early Sunday morning.

Callers reported a black Chevrolet Malibu traveling wrong-way on the SR-91 Freeway near Carmenita Road around 2:11 AM.

Multiple officers converged in an attempt to locate the wrong-way vehicle which eventually made its way southbound on the I-5 Freeway in northbound lanes.

When officers located the vehicle near Gene Autry Way it failed to stop, forcing officers to ram the vehicle in order to disable it.

Two officers were injured in the impact, including at least one who was rushed to a nearby hospital.

The driver of the vehicle, who is suspected of driving under the influence, was also treated by medics and believed to be transported to a nearby hospital.

Police recovered open alcoholic beverage containers from the Malibu.
