Anaheim: Motorcycle Pursuit Ends With Crash Into Patrol Vehicle

04.29.2020 | 10:31 PM | ANAHEIM – A motorcyclist who led officers on a high-speed pursuit was injured after crashing head-on into a patrol vehicle, Wednesday night.

Officers from the California Highway Patrol’s Westminster officer attempted to stop a green and red Kawasaki motorcycle.

The motorcyclist failed to yield and led officers on a dangerous pursuit that reached speeds in excess of 100 MPH and included bouts of driving wrong way as well as on sidewalks.

The pursuit eventually continued north on the I-5 Freeway into Anaheim when the suspect exited the freeway and fled into a residential area.

Officers began surrounding the residential area when the motorcyclist crashed head-on into a patrol vehicle and was ejected from his bike near the intersection of North Bluegrass Street and West Romneya Drive around 10:31 PM.

Firefighter paramedics responded to the scene and transported the suspect who appeared to be seriously injured.

The area surrounding the crash was closed until further notice while officers investigated the circumstances surrounding the pursuit crash.
