Anaheim: Man Rescued After Becoming Pinned In Car

10.16.2021 | 10:56 PM | ANAHEIM – A man who became pinned in his vehicle after crashing into a tree was rescued by firefighters in an extended extrication, Saturday night.

The crash occurred on the transition road from the northbound SR-57 to the westbound SR-91 freeway shortly before 11:00 AM.

Crews arriving on scene located a black 2002 Toyota Corolla that had left the roadway before crashing into a palm tree.

The male driver and solo occupant of the vehicle was pinned in the wreckage and had to be cut free by firefighter paramedics using the Jaws of Life and other power tools.

The extrication took about 45 minutes to complete and the man was later rushed to an area hospital in unknown condition.

Radio reports indicate the driver was later placed under arrest on suspicion of DUI.
