03.21.2022 | 7:00 PM | ANAHEIM – A man who shot and killed a bystander that witnessed a domestic dispute was arrested, police announced Monday.

Adalid Arcigaplancarte, 52, of Anaheim, was arrested less than a day after authorities say he shot and killed a bystander who saw him arguing with a woman on Mar. 18, 2022.

The shooting was reported in the parking lot of a strip mall located in the 1300 block of South Euclid Street around 7:00 PM.

When authorities arrived they learned that Arcigaplancarte had been involved in a domestic dispute with a woman he had been in a romantic relationship.

As the dispute unfolded Arcigaplancarte apparently noticed that 40-year-old Jorge Becerra-Vera, of Stanton, was watching.

Arcigaplancarte confronted Becerra-Vera and ultimately shot him before fleeing the scene.

Medics rushed Becerra-Vera to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Investigators quickly identified Arcigaplancarte as a suspect and located him the following day at around 11:30 AM in the 4000 block of South Main Street in Santa Ana.

Arcigaplancarte was booked into the Orange County Jail where he was being held in lieu of $1 million bail.
