Anaheim: Four-Alarm Recycling Center Fire Threatens Apartment Complex

11.24.2022 | 10:59 PM | ANAHEIM – A massive 4-alarm fire broke out inside a recycling facility sending smoke and embers towards a newly built apartment complex, late Thursday night.

Callers reported the fire at Certified Recycling, located in the 500 block of South Rose Street, shortly before 11:00 PM.

Responding firefighters observed a large column of smoke before arriving to the recycling facility where piles of recycling materials were engulfed in flames.

Winds sent smoke and embers towards an adjacent apartment complex forcing the evacuation of at least 40 people.

An intense battle to extinguish the flames and prevent any damage to nearby buildings lasted about two hours.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
