Anaheim: Good Samaritans Rescue Man From Fiery Crash

04.02.2022 | 1:57 AM | ANAHEIM – Good Samaritans rescued a man from his burning vehicle after a high-speed crash, early Saturday morning.

The blue 2001 BMW 330Ci convertible coupe collided with a crash attenuator just before the carpool lane exit on the northbound I-5 Freeway, just south of Gene Autrey Way, around 1:57 AM.

The vehicle, which was reportedly driving at high-speeds prior to the collision, burst into flames upon impact leaving its disoriented driver trapped inside.

Several people stopped to assist and ultimately pulled the man from the burning vehicle before first responders arrived.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and treated the driver on scene before transporting him to an area hospital. His condition was not immediately known.

The crash sent debris across all lanes of the freeway and left passing vehicles damaged.

All lanes of the northbound I-5 Freeway were closed for nearly an hour while crews worked to investigate the crash and clear the roadway.
