03.14.2023 | 11:33 PM | ANAHEIM – A man escaped serious injury after his vehicle lost control and crashed into a river, late Tuesday night.
The crash occurred around 11:33 PM on the westbound SR-91 Freeway, between the Peralta Weigh Station and Imperial Highway, when a silver 2018 Toyota Corolla departed the roadway and launched over a fence into the Santa Ana River.
Despite being half-submerged in fast flowing waters the driver and solo occupant of the vehicle was able to climb to safety.
Medics evaluated the man at the scene though he did not appear to be injured.
Slick roads are believed to have played a role in the single-vehicle crash.
