Anaheim: One Dead, Three Critical Following Mass Overdose That Prompted Hazmat Response

11.10.2024 | 1:09 AM | ANAHEIM – One person died and three others were in critical condition following following a suspected overdose at a party that prompted to a hazmat response, early Sunday morning.

Callers reported four individuals at a party in the 1500 block of Benmore Lane that were rendered unconscious after ingesting an unknown substance around 1:09 AM.

When authorities arrived they found four people in cardiac arrest and began lifesaving treatment. All four victims were subsequently rushed to area hospitals. One victim was pronounced deceased while the others were described as being in critical condition.

Due to the nature of the substance involved police evacuated the area and requested a hazmat team respond to evaluate the scene.

After several hours a hazmat team entered the scene to evaluate the white powdery substance thought it remains unclear what the substance was.

Police and county health officials were tasked with disposing of the unknown substance.

A public information officer did not respond to inquiries for additional information.
